Getting up close with nature
From getting peed on by monkeys to swimming with whale sharks, getting up close and personal with nature is always full of surprises and wonder.
While trekking up Mt Rinjani volcano on the Indonesian island of Lombok, Mother Nature subjected us to heat, humidity, fog, rain and near cyclonic winds - sometimes all within the space of one hour.
It was a challenging three day trek, but the views were worth it.
As a child, I remember sitting in the doctor’s waiting room, staring at the aquarium and wondering what it would be like to get in there with all those fish. After diving at Sipadan in Borneo, I no longer have to wonder.
A 10 day trek through Nepal's Annapurna region was one of the highlights of my life. Combining trekking and yoga, it was a test of physical endurance and mental patience.
