Melbourne is known as one of the most liveable cities in the world, but it's also a great place to play tourist for a weekend.
We spent 48 hours in Melbourne recently and here's what we got up to:
It’s the resort town just an hour and a half north of Brisbane, with clean beaches, rugged coastline, tangled rainforest and a sunny vibe.
We’d heard such great things about Noosa, we wondered if it could possibly live up to the hype. I’m pleased to say, it did.
If you've ever wondered how many shades of blue and green there are in the world, a visit to Hamilton Island in Queensland will give you some idea. The sheer number of hues will have you reaching for your thesaurus as you try to put its beauty into words.
Here's our experience:
It’s the biggest sand island in the world, yet it has a bountiful supply of fresh water and features stunning lakes, streams, rainforest and wildlife. Just off the coast of northern Queensland, the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island is about 123 kilometres long and only 15 k’s wide.

We loved Launceston itself, but it also made a great base to explore Tasmania's north. This is what we got up to:
Cradle Mountain in north west Tasmania is a magical place full of ancient rainforests, pristine waterfalls and lakes, abundant wildlife and spectacular scenery.
If hiking and nature are your thing, then put this place on your wishlist.
It might be the smallest state in Australia, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in incredible scenery, rich history, great food and friendly people.
We spent two weeks travelling across Tasmania and feel like we barely scratched the surface. Our trip started in Hobart, and here's what we got up to:
Choosing three favourite restaurants in Melbourne is an almost impossible (and some would say foolhardy) task.
According to one website, there’s about 5355 of them to choose from, so here goes:
On a recent stopover in Sydney, we were looking for a central apartment style hotel for us and the two kids, and that's how we found the Fraser Suites.
The suites are located in the heart of Sydney, next to the historical Town Hall, which we found was the perfect base for exploring the city in the short time we had.
